How to Complete the Monthly Money Saving Challenge

The basic principles of the 12-month savings challenge are simple and tailored to your goals.

You start by working out your yearly goal. So say you want to save £1000, you simply divide that by as many months as you wish to save. Most people start in January and do it over 12 months, but the chart is easily tailored to your needs.

If you start in January and want to save £1000 over a year, you need to save £83.33 per month to achieve your goal. So pop that amount into our free printable chart as a reminder, and to help you keep track of your savings each month.

The Monthly Money Challenge helps you build a savings habit that doesn't feel too overwhelming, whilst still ending up with a significant amount of savings at the end of the year.

Tips for The Monthly Saving Challenge

Keep Your Challenge in Sight

Place your printed chart somewhere that you will always see it, so it's always to hand to mark your progress and you'll always have a reminder of what you're working towards.  This is why I find the print outs so handy.

Choose the Best Saving Option for you

Some people like to save in a bank account specifically for their savings at others at home, in cash.  For this particular Money Saving Challenge, either works perfectly.

Participating in a money saving challenge, especially if you are doing it with a friend, family member or group, can help make saving more fun and help keep you on track.
