Which Supermarket is the cheapest for home delivery?
All supermarket's delivery costs differ, and you need to take into consideration the cost of the actual groceries as well as the delivery cost. We personally recommend Iceland as it's currently the ONLY supermarket that still offers free deliveries, the offers are plentiful and the prices are fair.

Asda Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Asda Christmas Delivery slot?
Delivery Pass Slots - Conformed to open on October 3rd 2023 for monthly and annual delivery pass customers.
Cost - Asda delivery pass service costs from £3.50 per month (or £35 a year) and gives shoppers free deliveries on orders of £40 or more.
General Christmas Delivery Slots Date - Confirmed to go live tot he general public on 11th October 2023
Cost - Between £1 - £7 depending on the slot required.
Click & Collect Available - Yes, C&C is available from 50p when you spend £25+
When will Asda take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount minus any authorisation charge (usually 1p at Asda) will be taken from your bank on the morning of the delivery or collection.
Tesco Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Tesco Christmas Delivery slot?
Delivery Saver Slots - Predicted to go live Tuesday 14th November 2023
Cost - Tesco's delivery saver service starts from £3.99 per month and gives shoppers free deliveries on orders of £40 or more.
General Slots - These are usually released at the end of November, one week after the delivery saver slots.
Cost - Between £1.50 - £7 depending on the slot required
Click & Collect Available - Yes. Prices for Click+Collect are free for delivery saver customers and from £0.75 - £2 for general slots, there's a minimum spend of £25 required for Click+Collect
When will Tesco take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount minus any authorisation charge (usually £2 at Tesco) will be taken from your bank on the morning of the delivery or collection.
Morrisons Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Morrisons Christmas Delivery slot?
Delivery Pass Slots - Predicted to be released on October 18th 2023
Cost - Morrisons delivery pass service costs from £5 per month (or £35 a year) and gives shoppers free deliveries on orders of £25 or more.
General Slots - These are usually released one week after the delivery pass slots.
Cost - Between £2 - £5 depending on the slot required.
Click & Collect Available - Yes. Click & Collect is free for delivery pass customers and also general slots, there's a minimum spend of £25 required for Click+Collect.
When will Morrisons take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount minus any authorisation charge (usually £1 at Morrisons) will be taken from your bank within two days of the delivery or collection.
Iceland Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Iceland Christmas Delivery slot?
General Slots - As normal, delivery slots will be made available up to six days in advance online and they will be plentiful.
Cost - Free for all orders over £45.
Click & Collect Available - No. Iceland is looking to roll out a Click & Collect service soon.
When will Iceland take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount will be pre-authorised from your account at the time of purchase, which will be then be debited on the day of delivery.
Ocado Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Ocado Christmas Delivery slot?
Smart Pass Slots - NOT APPLICABLE: Delivery charges apply as normal during Christmas week, when the Smart Pass delivery benefits are suspended.
Cost - Ocado's delivery pass service costs from £3.99 per month (or £39.99 a year) for midweek and £6.99 (£69.99 per year) for anytime, this gives shoppers free deliveries on orders of £40 or more.
General Slots - Not yet released! These are usually released in early December.
Cost - Between Free and £6.99 depending on the slot required.
Click & Collect Available - No
When will Ocado take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount will be pre-authorised from your bank two days before your delivery is due, which will then be debited after delivery - sometimes a few days after.
Waitrose Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Waitrose Christmas Delivery slot?
General Slots - Predicted to go live, late September for all customers
Cost - £3 for all orders.
Click & Collect Available - Yes. Free for orders over £40.
When will Waitrose take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount will be taken from your bank on the morning of the delivery or collection once scanned by the picker.
Sainsbury's Christmas Delivery Slots 2024
When can I book my Sainsbury's Christmas Delivery slot?
Anytime Pass Slots - Sainsbury's delivery Slots are predicted to be released daily from October 23rd 2023 for anytime pass customers
Cost - Anytime pass costs £60 per year, £30 for 6 months or £20 for 3 months, and the midweek pass costs £30 per year, £18 for 6 months and £10 for 3 months.
General Slots - These will be released around one week later than the delivery pass release.
Cost - Between £1 - £6 depending on the slot required.
Click & Collect Available - Yes. Click & Collect is available for free when you spend £40+ or £4 if you spend less. C&C Slots open on November 27th 2022.
When will Sainsbury's take payment for my grocery order?
The full amount will be taken from your bank once your order is picked on the morning of delivery or collection.

Act Fast
Christmas delivery slots get snapped up quickly, in some cases MINUTES so remember to check this article and make a note of when you can sign up to get a delivery from your preferred supermarket.
Time it Right
Obviously, you're going to want to have your food delivered as close to Christmas day as possible, to ensure it's all fresh, but leaving it until Christmas eve might not be the best idea.
I have opted for an early morning slot on the 23rd each year and always have about 20 subs (although I do have a massive shop). Some are fine but I have had to also nip to another shop (sometimes two) to get exactly what I need.
