Swipe your Rewards Card
If your chosen retailer has a loyalty scheme, remember to swipe your card to get the available points. Check out the best supermarket loyalty cards in 2025
Reserve Online
Argos no longer allows customers to reserve for free and Smyths Toys disable their reservation system 24 hours before a sale or code is due to go live.
So reserving items ready for the sale is unfortunately no longer an option at most retailers. Although, Supermarkets will honour the sale price, Tesco, Morrisons, and ASDA are good for this.
Check Stock Availability Online
You should check stock availability online where possible. You still want to get there pretty early though if shopping in-store, as there’s no saying the items you want won’t be purchased by the time you get there.
Particularly if they’re popular items. If shopping online, set an alarm and get check at 12pm and again around 5am.
