How to Get a Next Sale VIP Slot

Stay ahead of the Sales by getting a VIP slot. The Next Sale is still one of the UKs most popular sales, with shoppers queuing outside the store for hours, just to bag a cut-price bargain.

If you (like me) would rather not have a bargain if it means standing in a queue, then follow these tips to bag yourself a VIP slot, so that you can shop the sale from the comfort of your sofa. Here's how...

>> Get yourself a Next Credit account.

>> Make sure you have at least £250 available credit around 2 weeks prior to the sale taking place.

>> Order (and keep) at least one item from the current season's range.

>> Make sure you haven't returned more than two-thirds of the items you've ordered.

>> Order at least one item from your VIP slot, otherwise you won't be offered one in the next sale.

Next Sale FAQs

Does Next Ever Have Sales?

Next Holds Four Major Sales Per Year. These are Seasonal and Happen in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (which is the Boxing Day Sale).

Does Next Have a Black Friday Sale?

Next has opted out of Black Friday Sales since 2019 and shows no sign of having them in the future. Instead, shoppers can find the best bargains during the Autumn Sale which Drops in late September.

How often are Next sales?

Next has four Seasonal Sales at various times throughout the year, including Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter/Boxing Day.

Which is the Best Next Sale?

The biggest out of the seasonal sales are Summer Sale in July and the Boxing Day Sale where there are 1000s of savings to be had across every department. Most stock is cleared out during these two sales and it's a fantastic chance to purchase heavily discounted items in advance of next year's season.

What Time Does Next Clearance Update Online?

Next's Clearance section updates around 4 - 5 am each morning.

Tip: People set alarms to get up for the bargains so they do tend to sell out fast.

Can I Shop the Next Sale Online?

Whether you have a VIP slot or not, shoppers can take advantage of all of Next's Sales Online and In stores.  Although, there is an advantage to having a VIP slot as you will be the first to bag all the best bargains.

What is the First Time Slot for the Next VIP Sale?

The first sale slot start time for VIP customers is at 2pm online.  The VIP slots are released 7 days prior to the main instore sale, so always on a Saturday, the VIP sale will then kick off 3 days later on the Tuesday, with the main sale then launching for everyone online and in stores.

The key to getting an earlier slot is to not wait for the email invite, but to check your account as early as you can on the Saturday it's due to go live.

Can you use Staff discount on Sale Items?

Unfortunately, no. Staff get 25% off most products as standard, but sale items are excluded.

Can I return Next Sale items?

Yes, absolutely. The sale items have the exact same returns policy as full priced items, and this applies to online or in-store purchases.

Next Sale Tips

Don't Miss the Invite

Make sure your email address and (preferably) mobile phone number is up to date in your account section so that you receive the VIP invite, it is usually emailed and texted to your phone. Although, if you're really clever, you should check your account section every day, a few days before the sale is due to start as you will be able to choose a slot way before they let you know.  The earlier you book a slot, the better chance you have at bagging the bargains!

Pick your Items in Advance

The VIP sale allows you to log in up to 48 hours early via the  "Next Sale Preview" link to see what they have on offer.  Note down the item codes of the products you wish to purchase then you can easily log in and use the quick buy function.

Save on Delivery Charges

To save a fortune on delivery charges, get Next Unlimited. This service is perfect for regular Next customers. The deal is just £20 a year and gets you unlimited next day deliveries 7 days a week. You can choose a specific time-slot and returns are also free.

Home delivery usually costs £3.99, so getting unlimited pays for itself if you get more than 6 deliveries per year.

Shop the Clearance Section

Next has a clearance section which is usually live all year round, this is usually the dregs of the sale and returned items, as well as some one-off reductions. It is good to keep checking this section as there are some really good deals to be had.

Time it Wisely

The Next Clearance section updates in the early hours of the morning (when the handlers have put all the returns back on the system) usually around 5am each morning, (excluding Sundays) so set an alarm to get the best bargains.

Find out First

We release the live date around 2/3 days before it's due to go live by updating this article, as well as announcing it on our website and sharing it to all our social media channels.  This gives you plenty of time to reserve your items the day before.
