Circus Mondao is action packed spectacular headed by whip-cracking Ringmistress, Petra Jackson. The traditional circus is one of the few circuses that use animals, and showcases acrobatic performances, aerial flight, juggling, knife throwing, fire eating and the ring of death finale, with the hilarious 'Kikin the clown' entertaining the audience between acts.

Reason for Visit
Family day out on a bank holiday Monday in May with my husband, 7 year old twins and 5 year old grandson.
Cost of Visit
We visited on a special offer date, where all seats were £7.50. We got there about 1 hour before the performance time and managed to bag ringside seats.
What were the Highlights?
Horse Rides - £1.50 for a short ride around the ring on a horse or shetland pony.
Burgers - The burgers were very good indeed (chips were awful though)
Kikin - The children really enjoyed the clown.
Animals - There was a petting zoo outside which was 50p per person to visit after the show. You could see guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, ducks, geese and more.

What were the Downsides?
Toilets - There are only 3 toilets in the block which resulted in large queues during the interval.
Mud - As the big top was on a field, it was quite muddy when visiting the animals after the show.
Seating - We were lucky enough to get ringside seats, but the tiers looked very uncomfortable, I wouldn't have been able to sit there for 2 hours. So if you're looking at coming on a cheap day like we did, get there at least an hour early. They opened the doors around 15 mins after we arrived anyway, so there was no waiting around outside and we had plenty of time to grab food and drinks before the show.

There are two food vans, one serving slush puppies, popcorn and candy floss, the other serving hot foods like burgers, hotdogs and chips.
There are also sellers walking around with popcorn and candyfloss.
Do you have to pay for parking at Circus Mondao?
No, there is free parking for all visitors and plenty of it.

Does Circus Mondao Use Animals?
Yes, the show included shetland ponies and horses in a few of their western-themed acts.
The days of using wild animals are long over. Circus Mondao used to use a whole host of animals including Llamas, Zebras and more, but with tightening animal rights laws pertaining to the use of animals in entertainment, they are no longer allowed.
You can also see some smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ducks in their petting area, but these animals are not used in the shows.
How Long Does Circus Mondao Last?
The show is broken up into two sections which last for one hour each, and there is a 15-minute interval in between. Sometimes the interval runs over during sell-out sessions, so be prepared for the experience to last around 2.5 hours.

Our Verdict
All in all Circus Mondeo was a cracking day out. The staff were extremely friendly and the show was worth every penny.
Would I go again? Absolutely!
