When is the next Steam Sale in 2024? Steam is the ultimate online game platform, used by millions of gamers. This is why their sales are so popular and why people want to know when one is due to start.
Steam keeps their sale release dates as a heavily guarded secret as they don't want buyers to hold out on purchases until the sale. But they do tend to stick to a pattern which we track to make it easy to give accurate sale date predictions.
Steam Sale
What is Steam?
Steam is a video game digital distribution service by Valve. It's well known for being the ultimate destination for playing, discussing, and creating PC games.
The platform hosts over thirty thousand games and has over 150 million users worldwide.
The great thing about Steam is that it's cloud based, which means you don't have to download games onto your devices which can hog all your space and memory. Instead, you have to install the Steam "engine" or app on your computer or smartphone. Then you're able to access the full library of games, software, and forums.

Steam Sale Tips
Steam Festival
Steam Festivals are another good way for gamers to play games cheaply. They are also a good indicator of when a sale is incoming. As a sale generally starts a few days after the festival ends.
The Best Steam Sales
The Summer and Winter sales are famed for being the better of the Steam Sales. By the time the summer sale is live, you can get very good discounts on relatively new games.
Wishlist
It's a good idea to add all the games you have your eye on to your wishlist because as soon as they have a price cut you will be notified.
Don't Rush In
Even if a game you have on your wishlist goes on sale, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to rush into purchasing it. If you know you won't have the time to play it just now, wait until it comes around in the next sale a few weeks down the line. It'll likely be even further discounted too.
Themed Sales
As well as the main 7 we track, Steam often releases a few themed sales through the year such as Pride, Single, Music and more. These give you the opportunity to purchase genre-specific titles at rock bottom prices.
